CARRASCAL NICKEL CORPORATION

Carrascal Nickel Corporation (CNC) is a Philippine company engaged in mining and exporting nickel ore. We mine limonite and saprolite ores and export to China to produce ferro-nickel and stainless steel.

Established in 2006 by its president, Mr. Antonio Co and Mr. Carlos Chan, in partnership with Baosteel Desheng Stainless Steel Co. Ltd., formerly Fujian Wuhang Stainless Steel Products Co. Ltd., the second largest steel producer in the world, CNC set out to mine and develop an area of 4,567 hectares of land in Carrascal, Surigao del Sur, which is located in the southern region of the Philippines.

PERFORMANCE HISTORY We are committed to continuous improvement, continually seeking ways to optimize efficiency and guarantee prompt deliveries to our clients. To date, CNC has extracted more than 61 million WMT of nickel laterite ore and shipped 1,106 vessels equivalent to 59 million WMT. CNC was awarded with the Top Exporter of the Year 2023 by the Bureau of Customs (BOC) – Port of Surigao.

Rigorous and comprehensive quality sampling tests at every step of our mining process is adhered to. CNC proudly holds the following ISO Certifications, showing our commitment to quality management (ISO 9001:2015), environmental management (ISO 14001:2015), and occupational health and safety (ISO 45001:2018).

ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION We are dedicated to integrating the best environmental practices in all our operations, implementing strict environmental protection and enhancement programs with the aim of maintaining a self-sustainable ecosystem for the benefit of our host community. We have been awarded as the Best Mining Forest for 2013 to 2014 and Presidential Mineral Industry Environmental Award (PMEIA) Platinum Achievement Award for 2021 to 2023.

SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT We contribute to the sustainable social and economic development of our host communities by providing infrastructure, livelihood, education, and opportunities for the local and indigenous in our operating area.  Since the commencement of our operations, we have spent about 370 million on Social Development and Management Program, as we aim to improve the quality of life of the host and neighboring communities of our operation.

SAFETY MILESTONE We prioritize the well-being of our employees through implementing stringent safety measures and fostering a culture of awareness. Achieving remarkable milestones, such as the Safety Milestone Award and a cumulative record of 31 million Safe Manhours since October 2014, we continually invest in training, technology, and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
