On the morning of March 19, the 2024 FerroAlloyNet 17th Ti & Zr Products Summit Forum officially kicked off! Before the forum began, Liu Jian, County Magistrate of Suixi County People's Government, delivered a speech. At the same time, Cai Yu, President of Zhanjiang Titanium and Zirconium Association, extended a warm welcome to all the guests gathered in Zhanjiang, expressed good expectations for the future of the titanium and zirconium industry, and expressed good wishes for the success of the conference.

During the speech session of the conference, Yao Ge of LB Group Co., Ltd. brought a report on The Impact of European Anti-dumping on China's Titanium Dioxide Market Trends. The report focused on the titanium dioxide market situation, EU anti-dumping progress, and opportunities and challenges for Chinese titanium dioxide companies, and titanium dioxide market trends to analyze and explain. He said that the government work report mentioned that prudent monetary policy must be flexible, appropriate, precise and effective. Maintain reasonable and sufficient liquidity, and the scale of social financing and money supply should match the expected goals of economic growth and price levels; the production capacity of European and American international manufacturers has shrunk, and domestic brands will be replaced at an accelerated pace; the production capacity of domestic manufacturers is still in the expansion period, and their products are widely used by international customers recognized. This is the opportunity we will face in 2024. However, challenges coexist. In terms of international trade policy, there will be anti-dumping investigations in Europe, Asia and the European Union and the hindrance of anti-dumping tariffs in the later period. Globally, the rise of trade protectionism may affect the international trade of the titanium dioxide industry. Second, due to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and regional political turmoil, the fragile shipping situation and the safe navigation of the Red Sea and Suez routes, freight rates have fluctuated greatly. Third, in order to ensure market share, local suppliers reduce prices to lock in the number of customers.

Miao Huijun, Vice President of Iluka Resources Limited, gave a wonderful speech on The Outlook for Titanium Feedstock in 2024. The report mainly looks forward to the titanium raw material market in 2024 from the aspects of imported titanium raw materials, domestic titanium raw materials market changes, product and price trend changes, etc.

Gong Wei, Secretary-General, China Building and Sanitary Ceramics Association, brought a report on High-Quality Development Occupies the Commanding Heights of the Zirconium Industry. The report analyzes and elaborates from three directions: the development status of China's construction and sanitary ceramics industry, the opportunities and challenges of the construction and sanitary ceramics industry, and the industry situation in 2024 and its impact on the zirconium industry. The report mentioned that the real estate market is still in a period of deep adjustment, and investment growth continues to run in the negative range. Domestic and foreign market demand and production supply peaked in 2016 and then gradually declined. Except for India, the output of the world's major ceramic tile producing countries has shown varying degrees of decline. China's output accounts for 54% of the world. The output and export volume of sanitary ceramics have declined for two consecutive years, and the shrinking domestic market has led to an increase in the industry's overall dependence on foreign countries. In 2023, the export volume of ceramic tiles will increase by 6.3% year-on-year, while the export volume of sanitary ceramics will decrease by 10.07%. In 2023, the export unit price of various products in the construction and sanitary ceramics industry will fall, resulting in a decline in export volume.

Liu Wenjun, Sales Manager, Guangdong Oriental Zirconium Technology Co., Ltd. brought a report on How to catch the Opportunity when the next price rising of zirconium market comes. The report mentioned that zirconium is a rare metal mine with its own unique trend and periodicity, which is roughly similar to other non-ferrous metals and bulk metal minerals. Observing and researching the US dollar exchange rate is easier than studying changes in demand in the zirconium industry itself, and is also very helpful in judging large fluctuations in the zirconium market. Liu Wenjun believes that the industry has a cycle of three to five years, and it is necessary to seize the cyclical rise and achieve huge profits. In a falling market, some products still have an upward trend and are looking for growth points to maintain or appreciate their value. Wait patiently for market fluctuations, carefully observe changes in categories, and seize the key elements of large market fluctuations.

Li Ling, CNNC Huasheng Minerals Co., Ltd. conducted an in-depth analysis of the Current Development Status and Prospects of Comprehensive Utilization of Monazite Resources Industry. The report mainly focuses on the overview of monazite, development and utilization of monazite, monazite price trends, and future trends and prospects of monazite.

Pan Tingxiang, Deputy Secretary-General, China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association Titanium, Zirconium and Hafnium Branch, brought a report on Looking at the development logic of titaniumtim within and outside the industry from the "double line" matching of sponge titanium. The report focuses on the development context of China titanium industry and the titanium industry in the 21st century. In-depth analysis of four major contents: "dual-line" trend logic, dialectical thinking on the prospects of titanium integration outside and inside the territory, and the continued upward development demand of the titanium industry in the future.

Hou Weijie, Principle Analyst, FerroAlloyNet, gave a wonderful sharing on The Current market situation of China titanium ore. Analysis and elaboration was carried out around the three points of titanium ore, titanium series downstream demand, and domestic titanium concentrate. The report mentioned that the Panxi area (Panzhihua-Xichang) is a rich area of vanadium-titanium magnetite, an important strategic resource in my country. According to website statistics, as of 2023, the output of titanium concentrate in the Panxi region accounts for more than 77% of domestically produced titanium concentrate. At present, the output of titanium concentrate in Chengde, Yunnan, Shaanxi, Xinjiang and other regions is also continuing to be released, but it is affected by factors such as limited supply of raw materials, weather, mine blasting, and policies. Its release speed is relatively slow, and ilmenite concentrate in the Panxi region still accounts for the vast majority of supply. He also highlighted the distribution of domestic titanium concentrate mining areas.
