On 25 November, Lexi He and Zhang Lin from FerroAlloyNet nickel team along with Mitsui & Co., Zhejiang Metals and Materials Company and PT Harapan Anugerah Indah visit PT.WANXIANG NICKEL INDONESIA. Two Parties had deep discussion on the nickel ore supply, NPI production cost and nickel matte project.
About PT.WANXIANG NICKEL INDONESIA
PT.WANXIANG NICKEL INDONESIA is located in Morowali, Central Sulawesi, Indonesia, with 890 hectares areas, surrounded by mountains on three sides. The company is planned to be divided into four areas in the east, west, south and north: the east area is the maritime terminal logistics area, the south area is planned as the hydrometallurgy area, the west area is the future development area, and the north area is the first and second phase nickel pig iron (ferronickel) smelting and power supply areas.
The first phase of the project is equipped with four 36000 RKEF production lines and a self-owned power plant, with a designed production capacity of 260,000 tons of nickel pig iron. Currently the generating units have been connected to the grid for power generation, and four RKEF production lines also have been successfully put into operation. The park is currently equipped with a 20,000-ton portable terminal and a 100,000-ton terminal is under construction. With the rapid development of the global new energy industry, the second phase of the project will be transformed into a new energy industry industrial park, planning to produce nickel matte and nickel cobalt hydroxide.
