Wu Shizhi, manager of the Development Department of Guangzhou Futures Exchange, conducted a comprehensive analysis on "Futures Help High-Quality Development of the Silicon Industry". It is mainly analyzed from five aspects: the introduction and product planning of Guangzhou Futures Exchange, the operation of industrial silicon futures market, futures delivery business, the necessity of polysilicon futures listing, and the basic ideas of polysilicon futures contract (draft) design. Wu Shizhi said that there are three main reasons why the listing of polysilicon futures is necessary: firstly, to ensure the security of the photovoltaic industry supply chain and help achieve the dual-carbon goal. The second is to provide reasonable forward price signals to avoid overcapacity. The third is to serve the development of new energy industry clusters in western China and promote regional balance.

Zhang Yong, Secretary General of Sichuan Ferroalloy Industry Association, brought "Green Power Industrial Silicon Promotes High-Quality Development" and introduced the Ferrosilicon Association. The association has 51 member units located in Chengdu, Leshan, Ya'an, Aba Prefecture, Liangshan Prefecture and other places. It is the cradle of technical talents for industrial silicon production in the country and the "Huangpu Military Academy for Industrial Silicon Talents". It has been recognized by relevant government departments and peers. In 2019, it was awarded the AAA level community organization by the Sichuan Provincial Department of Civil Affairs. Zhang Yong mentioned that experts from Sichuan are distributed all over the country as the country’s exporter of outstanding industrial silicon talents. After the electricity reform, the advantages of hydropower gradually weakened. Mineral resources are no longer in Sichuan, and industrial silicon has moved to the northwest. Xinjiang has become the largest region in industrial silicon production in the country, and Sichuan ranks third. In terms of advantages, green hydropower is low-carbon and conforms to the dual-carbon situation; in terms of disadvantages, there are large fluctuations in prosperity and dryness, and poor stability. Zhang Yong said that silicon energy is heading towards the future. Promote cooperation in the new energy industry chain in an orderly manner and build a new win-win model for energy green and low-carbon transformation; new industrialization, new quality productivity, and new energy development; the long-term benefits of industrial silicon, and the long-term benefits of Sichuan's green power silicon industry under the "double carbon" situation advantages exist. Carbon footprint tracking is good for green silicon. Yongxiang will build a new industrial silicon project and promote the establishment of a joint conference system for the green silicon industry in southern Sichuan, Yunnan and Fujian.

Pan Cunxiang, Secretary General of Xinjiang Nonferrous Metals Industry Association Silicon Branch, brought "Xinjiang Industrial Silicon and Polysilicon Industry Development Trends in 2024", which discussed the development status, advantages and disadvantages, policies and suggestions, development directions and and other aspects. Pan Cunxiang pointed out that in terms of advantages: Xinjiang undertakes important national strategic tasks, has superior natural resources, has huge development potential and is rich in coal resources. Among the shortcomings: high logistics costs for raw materials and product sales, insufficient supply of silica resources, and shortage of technical talents. Pan Cunxiang suggested that we should promote the extension and strengthening of industrial chains, strengthen the construction of key projects, enhance industrial innovation capabilities, make every effort to ensure the supply of raw materials, rationally regulate industrial silicon production capacity, and increase efforts to attract and train talents. Finally, Pan Cunxiang mentioned two development directions of industrial regional layout and key areas and products, as well as an innovative development goal, and conducted analysis and judgment.

Structural opportunities in the organic silicon market: upstream production capacity expansion has not yet ended, and the degree of integration of individual enterprises continues to increase; DMC prices have bottomed out and rebounded, and the interests of organic silicon companies have diverged; exports have fallen back, but are still at a historically high level; organic silicon consumption has shown strong resilience and consumption growth has been steady. 2. The silicone market is in a trough adjustment period: the price-performance ratio has improved, accelerating the replacement of traditional materials by silicone products; emphasis has been placed on improving quality and efficiency and developing products in high-performance high-end fields to help high-quality development of the industry.

The report mentioned that in 2023, China's automobile production and sales totaled 30.161 million and 30.094 million vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 11.6% and 12% respectively. Production and sales have reached a record high, achieving double-digit growth. New energy vehicles continue to grow rapidly. The production and sales of new energy vehicles reached 9.587 million and 9.495 million respectively, a year-on-year increase of 35.8% and 37.9% respectively. The market share reached 31.6%, which was 5.9 percentage points higher than the same period last year. Kong Xianzhong pointed out that the secondary aluminum production process mainly includes pre-treatment and smelting. The sorting and treatment of scrap aluminum is the key to improving the quality of scrap aluminum recycling, and is also the key to achieving the upgrading and utilization of scrap aluminum materials. When electrolytic aluminum plants began to get involved in recycled alloy products, their advantages were relatively large. The most obvious was that they could use the profits generated from pure aluminum ingot products to "subsidize" recycled aluminum products. However, traditional recycled cast aluminum alloy manufacturers will face more brutal competition when purchasing ALSICU series scrap aluminum. Therefore, the development of pretreatment in the future is a higher degree of automation, high efficiency, and energy-saving production mode, achieving a more refined sorting level, and improving the recycling rate and utilization rate of scrap aluminum, especially for low-iron scrap and the processing and use of low-grade scrap aluminum will be an important profit growth point for enterprises.

The report analyzed the industrial silicon market conditions, changes in the supply and demand of industrial silicon, and the later trend of industrial silicon. The report mentioned that the total output of aluminum alloys in 2023 was about 14.45 million tons. The demand for industrial silicon is slowly increasing, but it is basically based on rigid demand. With the weakness of the real estate and infrastructure industries, aluminum alloy ingots have a negative impact on the industrial industry, the demand for silicon is still stable; affected by the recession of the international economic situation and the impact of new foreign industrial silicon plants on Chinese market prices, the weak export market will be difficult to alleviate in the short term. In 2023, China's industrial silicon export volume was approximately 570,000 tons. Tang Dan said that industrial silicon is expected to add 1.5 million tons of new production capacity in 2024, which will not reach full production. In addition to capacity-integrated enterprises, the production of other enterprises is also closely related to prices.
